Company Information:  Our client is a $2+B public international manufacturing company serving a range of market segments including business, institutional and consumer.  Location:  Chicago-Near North Suburb.

Position Summary:

Responsible for cost accounting tasks including month-end close journal entries, account reconciliation, audit schedules, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

• Timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation and monthly financial analysis of freight and distribution costs and contract manufacturing operations.
• Supports budgeting and forecasting processes as directed.
• Prepares various analyses and ad hoc reports.
• Acts as a liaison to other departments to enhance understanding of financial information for business decisions.
• Administration/analysis of various other topics that have a financial impact, including:  variance analysis, inventory analysis, government reporting and cost system maintenance.
• Gains an understanding of company processes and procedures, documents processes and procedures, and identifies and recommends process improvements.

Requirements:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Two or more years of experience; manufacturing background helpful.
• Proficient user in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of general ledger and reporting packages necessary.
• Some knowledge of query, reporting and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
