Title: Cost Accounting Manager
Location: Bartlett, IL
Company Overview: Subsidiary of a Billion Dollar corporation that manufactures mechanical equipment and prides itself on quality, innovation, performance and reliability. Location: West Suburbs - Bartlett area.
Position Overview: Providing leadership and full technical support for all cost-related activities including cost analysis and management, inventory analysis and reporting, and by providing assistance and support in the development of lean manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop standard product costs.
- Maintain cost database that includes performing monthly cost updates and reviewing bills of material.
- Cost all machine shipments and forecasted cost of goods sold (COGS) to be used for monthly forecasts.
- Collaborate with Operations to evaluate, develop, and implement an Activities Based Costing system to be used by management for product line analysis.
- Inventory analysis and reporting including: coordinating the yearly physical inventory and analyze any book to physical differences; compare the monthly book inventory to the perpetual records and explain any differences; review obsolescence accrual; develop year-end LIFO information; assist in the monthly closing/forecasting activities and in the development of the Annual Operating Plan.
- Provide appropriate supervision for Accounting team members in order for the functions to perform efficiently and effectively.
- Provide support and assistance in the development of lean manufacturing processes.
- Provide support and assistance on special cost projects and teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; MBA or CMA or CPA a plus
- 5 – 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to prioritize, plan and multi-task
- Ability to effectively collaborate with employees in all levels across the organization
