Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will collaborate with the Vice President of Finance in areas including but not limited to: forecasting, planning, budgeting, financial statements, banking, cash management, investments, major purchases financing decisions, A/P, A/R, tax administration, governmental reporting and fixed assets. Supervises A/P and A/R staff.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare account analysis and reconciliations
- Prepare timely and accurate journal entries and financial statements
- Prepare daily cash report and cash requirements
- Reconcile Scholarship Funds and Pension Plan account
- Assist and provide information to all departments as required in the annual budgeting process
- Assist in the preparation of year-end working papers for annual audit
- Collaborate in ensuring compliance with all tax and license filings, reports, and payments
- Research vendor invoice or payment discrepancies and discuss with vendors
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5 years of progressive, related experience in accounting
- Supervisory experience a plus
