Title:                 Plant Engineer       
Location:          Southwest Missouri

Company Information:  Subsidiary of large, high growth international food manufacturing company located in Southwest Missouri.

Position Overview:  The Plant Engineer is responsible for developing and managing a preventive maintenance program and providing technical support as described below.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze equipment specifications, test reports, drawings and technical data to ensure the success of a project
  • Develop and implement capital projects in support of the implementation of the capital facility plan
  • Provide ongoing technical support to the facility for both mechanical and control system
  • Develop and manage plant preventive maintenance program
  • Manage and control spare part system
  • Troubleshoot plant systems including controls
  • Provide technical support to the facility by troubleshooting plant systems and analyzing recurring problems and implementing corrective action
  • Manage capital projects by establishing budgets, completing project designs, preparing capital requests, executing projects and auditing the completed project
  • Provide support for larger capital projects including equipment design, contractor management and startup
  • Execute changes to PLC programming as needed to support process improvements
  • Supervise the maintenance supervisor and one non-exempt employee

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Mechanical (BSME), preferred; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, e.g., quadratic equations and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks e.g., frequency distribution, analysis of variance, correlation techniques.
  • Working proficiency with software tools:  Microsoft:  Word, Excel, Project, Visio (or other CAD system) and RS Logics or equivalent.   Programmable Logic Controller programming and trouble shooting experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill across all levels of employees as well as with clients and vendors.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
