Company Information:  Large, global food industry manufacturer located in suburban St. Louis, MO.

Position Overview:  The Strategic Sourcing Specialist position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  A high degree of communication, planning, and organizational skills are required.  Position requires travel.

Responsibilities:

• Searching worldwide for new manufactured and raw material opportunities.

• Organizing and managing corporate-wide resources to meet future raw material needs.

• Developing long-term raw material sourcing strategies and partners.

• Ability to travel to domestic and international locations.

• Developing innovative strategies to remove supply chain cost from raw materials by expanding sourcing opportunities.

• Developing a disaster recovery plan of supplies for all major raw materials.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Food Technology or related area.

• At least 7 years of related experience.

• Knowledge of food grade manufacturing environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

• Ability to travel to domestic and international locations.

• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office products and appropriate applications relating to purchasing.
