Title: Manager – Financial Analysis and Business Intelligence
Location: Chicago - North Suburb
Company Overview: Large, well-known, multinational company providing products and services to multiple market segments. Conveniently located in a north suburb of Chicago.
Position Overview: The Manager – Financial Analysis and Business Intelligence assists in developing strategic business planning activities in assigned zone including development of geographic and industry sector expansion initiatives, corporate program evaluations and strategic business issues investigations to ensure maximum market effectiveness. The individual in this position will utilize their strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting tools such as Hyperion Essbase, Cognos Query and Powerplay.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the development of business/marketing analyses, company acquisition analyses and plans pertinent to the company’s global and industry sector expansion within assigned zone, as required.
- Assists in developing candidate strategies and objectives for the company’s global strategic and global objectives plans.
- Directs the research of strategic intelligence within assigned zone and prepares recommendations for use in the development of corporate objectives, as assigned.
- Directs and develops, as requested, specific information on pending business proposals and related issues to be included in reports to senior management.
- Provides guidance and assistance to company subsidiaries and affiliates, if applicable to the assigned zone, in assisting in developing and presenting business cases for current business expansion and new program development.
- Assists in developing departmental budget to support planned programs of business development, research and analysis and manages expenditures to be within budget limitations.
- Manages the performance of direct reports by assisting in defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or business-related field.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in business, including planning, sales, marketing and operations.
- Detailed knowledge of financial and cost accounting theories and principles.
- Strong analytical, documentation and project management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Cognos Query and Cognos Powerplay reporting tools, preferred.
- Experience with relational database and OLAP cube design, preferred.
- Ability to work with and manage IT resources both onshore and offshore.
- Ability to interface with other process and systems support professionals including the global user community in an effective and professional manner.
