Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator
Location: Northwest Suburban St. Louis, MO
Position Information: The Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator plans, coordinates and implements the company’s safety, environmental and health programs to control conditions contributing to occupational and environmental hazards. Position is located in Northwest Suburban St. Louis, Missouri.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical hazards, physical hazards and environmental hazards
- Surveys, compiles and analyzes data relating to the occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, fumes, noise, temperatures, dust, vapors, mist, gasses, solvents, lighting and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health
- Performs field and safety measurements, safety evaluation, hazardous waste evaluations and facility emergency response duties
- Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions
- Directs workers in field and laboratory verification of compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
- Provides technical guidance to management regarding health-related problems and correct use of protective clothing or accessories
- Monitors the company’s health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Requirements:
- B.S. degree
- 2+ years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be detail oriented
- Effective communication skills with employees of all levels within the organization
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and appropriate applications related to safety
